The book to be discussed in May is Replenishing the Earth – Spiritual values for healing Ourselves and the World, by Wangari Maathai Available at Amazon.com – or read a few pages to get a sense of her mission. Wangari Matthai, environmental activist and Nobel Peace Prize winner, explains the value of trees especially, but not only, in Kenya. She clarifies simply and unemotionally the value of trees to civilization and human life, to the land and the beasts.
